Meet the Ambassadors
The Medical Arts Program Ambassadors are a group of representatives from each year of medical school, selected by Medical Arts faculty leadership. They attend events available to program participants, promote the program to prospective and current students, and help shape the program for the year, making sure that many forms of art are represented and that participants' desires are met.
Trisha Paul, M4
I aspire to become a pediatric oncologist and pediatric palliative care physician, and recently published the book Chronicling Childhood Cancer: A Collection of Personal Stories by Children and Teens with Cancer (Michigan Publishing, 2015). As a strong proponent of the arts, I have found that the Medical Arts program provides unique opportunities to think more deeply about medicine as an art and about how the arts can cultivate a more humanistic practice of medicine. I majored in English prior to medical school and love to read and write. I am also also a ballet/lyrical dancer and choreographer. |
Evie Coves-Datson, MSTP
I'm currently pursuing a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology with a focus on investigating how HIV kills immune cells. Outside of my research laboratory, I am fascinated with the visual and culinary arts, and I also enjoy music (as a saxophonist in our med school band) and dance (as a performer in our med school dance production). The Medical Arts Program is such a distinct and unique part of my experience at Michigan; I am indebted to the way in which it keeps me connected to the arts, to all that is vital in making us human. |
