Event Details
Friday, January 12th
6:00-10:00pm
Dinner/Discussion Location: Pond Room (Michigan Union)
Performance Location: Power Center for the Performing Arts

Urban Bush Women presents bold, innovative, and demanding works that challenge long-held assumptions about women, people of color, body types, styles of movement, society, history, and appropriate content for the stage. Hair & Other Stories is a multidisciplinary evening-length work that addresses matters of race, gender identity, and economic inequality through the lens of physical appearance, including the cultural significance of African-American women’s hair.
