1.22.2017On Sunday afternoon, January 22, at 3:30 PM, we will attend a performance by the Takács Quartet followed by a post-concert dinner & discussion with the quartet.
We will begin by picking up tickets in the lobby of Rackham Auditorium (915 E. Washington St.) before heading into the auditorium to attend the performance. The Takács Quartet is recognized as one of the world's greatest chamber ensembles. They have met twice before with the Medical Arts Program, and each time they have shared fascinating insights about the music and about their craft. For this concert, they will be delving into the beauty of Beethoven's string quartets, which are widely regarded as his greatest compositions. Their program for the evening will be as follows: Beethoven Quartet No. 3 in D Major, Op. 18, No. 3 Quartet No. 8 in e minor, Op. 59, No. 2 Quartet No. 12 in E-flat Major, Op. 127 More information about the performance is available here. Following the performance, we will head upstairs for dinner and a discussion with the Takács Quartet. |
